Manufactured at the time as the 275 GTB and 330 GTC, the Ferrari 330 GT 2+2 had all the motoring attributes of the large 4-litre V12 yet with the practicality of a 4-seater GT tourer

When the 330GT was launched, they were mostly sold to private collections of the most significant and affluent Ferrari owners; John Lennon, Prince Bernhard and even Mr Enzo Ferrari himself were notable keepers.

The early Series I vehicles had the distinctive four headlight configuration, which was perceived by some to be unattractive or ‘cross-eyed’. This design was soon reconfigured under the pen of Tom Singlur to reveal a subliminally attractive new front end and upgraded 5-speed gearbox which eradicated the need for the previously used overdrive unit.

The fantastic Colombo designed 300bhp engine was adorned with triple Weber 40DCZ/6 carburettors and this combination took the vehicle from 0-100km in just 6.3 seconds, making it one of the fastest cars of the mid-sixties era.

We are delighted to offer this exceptionally original and sought after Series II example, finished in arguably the most famous of all Ferrari colour Rosso with Nero Franzi interior, a rare leather option with higher gloss than the standard Connolly type. Originally the vehicle was finished in one of the most desirable colours Argento Silver, giving the any new owner the potential to enjoy the car in either its current colour or commission the car back to its original specification, something we at Samuel Laurence would be happy to assist with.

Built in 1966 and delivered new to the Untied States through importer Luigi Chinetti in October 1966. The car was reimported back to Europe from the warm climate of dry state Texas, USA.

The interior is in very good condition, the seats are free from damage rips or tears, the headlining is excellent and the vehicle also features air conditioning. It rides on factory ordered Borrani wire wheels and original spare.

Mechanically the car is in excellent condition throughout, with the last careful custodian driving the car each weekend in central London. Well maintained at the UKs leading Ferrari specialist GTO Engineering with recent servicing invoices totalling £10,000. This is a turn key V12 Ferrari that is ready to be shown this summer or fit for long distance GT cruising.

The car has been inspected by Ferrari aficionado Tony Willis and has been confirmed complete matching numbers with Ferrari.
